Our Story
Khyerie's began as a simple idea: that a great cup of coffee or tea should feel like a moment, not just a transaction.
How It Started
It started in 2018 with a ceramic mug, a bag of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, and a pour-over kettle on a tiny apartment stove. Khyerie had been chasing that perfect cup for years — the kind that makes you stop, breathe, and just be present.
After years of sourcing beans, studying tea ceremony, and hosting weekend tastings for friends, the idea of a real space took shape. Khyerie's Coffee and Tea opened its doors in 2021 with one goal: to make every guest feel like a regular from the very first visit.
"Every cup is a small act of care."
Where We Are Now
Today we're a gathering place — for early risers chasing clarity, remote workers who need a corner to think, and friends who linger over a second pot of tea. We host workshops, tastings, and community events because we believe the best cafés are more than just places to drink.
Every item on our menu is made to order. Every bean is sourced with intention. Every cup is a small act of care.
What We Stand For
Four principles that shape every decision we make — from the beans we buy to the way we greet a stranger.
We work directly with small farms and importers who share our commitment to quality and fair practices. We visit our suppliers, ask hard questions, and only serve what we'd drink ourselves.
Nothing sits under a heat lamp here. Every espresso is pulled fresh, every tea is steeped to order, every pastry is baked the morning it's served.
We host workshops, open mics, and tastings because we believe a café should be a living part of its neighborhood — not just a place to consume, but a place to connect.
We take our craft seriously but never ourselves. Great coffee and tea should be approachable, joyful, and a little bit surprising — not intimidating.
The People Behind the Cup
Founder & Head Barista
Khyerie spent a decade working in specialty coffee before opening the shop. She trained in Tokyo, sourced beans in Ethiopia, and still pulls the first shot every morning.
Tea Curator
Marcus discovered his love for tea during a year in Kyoto. He curates our tea menu, leads tastings, and is the reason our hojicha latte has a cult following.
Head Baker
Selin trained at a patisserie in Istanbul before joining us. She bakes everything from scratch each morning and changes the seasonal tart every week.
Community & Events
Dayo runs our events program and makes sure every workshop, open mic, and tasting feels like a gathering of friends rather than a ticketed event.
Our Craft
We rotate our pour-over selection seasonally, sourcing from farms in Ethiopia, Colombia, and Guatemala.
Our matcha is stone-ground in Uji, Japan. We whisk it to order — never pre-mixed, never powdered.
Every flavored syrup — lavender, rose cardamom, yuzu — is made in-house in small batches with real ingredients.
Our baker arrives at 5 AM. By the time we open, the croissants are still warm and the morning buns are just out of the oven.
We're open seven days a week. Pull up a stool, order something warm, and stay as long as you like.
